Join us for an exciting evening of networking and discussions on sustainable digitalisation at the FARI AI Happy Hour event! This in-person event will take place on Monday 26 February at 17:30 in the FARI Test and Experience Center (Cantersteen 16, 1000 Brussels).

For this first session, Arjen Van de Walle – Phd Candidate for the VUB Business Development Academy, will examine the ongoing digitalization wave, questioning its impact on achieving a sustainable future or potentially shifting problems elsewhere.

The digitalisation of industry and broader society is undeniable and full on its way, announcing the arrival of a new technological era. At the same time, more and more attention is placed on the environmental and social sustainability of such innovations. Is digitalisation going to help us achieve a sustainable future? Or will it merely shift the problem elsewhere?

Is this for you? Administrators, industry professionals and AI enthusiasts are invited to join this session.

A balanced mix of learning and relaxation – Attendees will have the opportunity to delve into sustainable digitalisation with Arjen, followed by a casual happy hour with snacks and beverages!

Arjen Van de Walle

 

Arjen Van de Walle is a PhD candidate active within the Business Development Academy at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. He has a background as a bio-science engineer (Ghent University) and within sustainability science (Maastricht University) and supports companies in their sustainable digital transformation and implementation of artificial intelligence, all within the context of the European Digital Innovation Hub sustAIn.brussels. Arjen has expertise in sustainable business model innovations and in providing coaching to entrepreneurs to further introduce sustainability in their business development (including assessing the sustainability of business innovations).

About the FARI AI Happy Hours

The FARI AI Happy Hours are workshop sessions that will be held every last Monday of the month, starting at 17:30 pm and finishing at 19:00 pm. These sessions will provide an appetizer of what Al, data and robotics has to offer, how it can benefit citizens, administrators & companies in day-to-day life and how to safeguard sustainability, compliance and responsible use of these technologies.
