Empowering Citizens to Navigate Urban Challenges Through Data

Offline

Mark your calendars for an enriching experience as we convene at Muntpunt in Brussels on May 17, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM CEST. This event, part of the “Data and the City” series, promises to be an engaging exploration of urban data struggles.

In recent years, a surge of citizen initiatives has swept through Brussels and across Europe, empowering individuals to gather data through sensors they install themselves, bypassing traditional government agencies. In Brussels, numerous air quality projects have taken flight, with sensors placed in gardens, on balconies, and window sills. Similarly, in Barcelona, citizens have banded together to combat noise pollution, equipped with training on noise sensor usage. Can the production, interpretation, and visualization of such data emerge as pivotal tools in addressing contemporary urban challenges?
