On March 12, 2026, the closing event of LASO will take place, an innovation process project focused on the reliable and responsible implementation of AI solutions.

Offline

We are pleased to invite you to the closing event of the LASO-project, an innovation process project focusing on trustworthy and responsible implementation of AI-solutions, funded by Innoviris-FARI. The blueprint that will be presented is the result of a collaboration between project partners VUB Smit Research group, UZ Brussel, Sagacify, ULB – iCite, and ULB – Centre Perelman.

LASO: HospitaL-centric AI Selection and Operationalization blueprint approach

These days, Artificial Intelligence is everywhere, offering great opportunities in various fields of work, including healthcare. In hospitals, AI presents the opportunity to enhance patient care by, for example, reducing administrative burdens, speeding up processes, and cutting costs. However, decision-makers such as CEOs, CIOs, CTOs and innovation managers often struggle to identify the most valuable and feasible AI-use cases, missing opportunities that could serve the common good. In addition do many AI-initiatives remain technology-driven, top-down approaches, which increases the risk of failure at the implementation stage.

With the LASO-approach, we created a comprehensive methodology and supporting materials from ideation to project concept, to support AI-driven innovation in hospitals. Through a series of various workshops, tailored AI-opportunities are selected and created that are trustworthy, robust, and ethically responsible, de-risking the current innovation process.
