Representing AI in Brussels: creative workshop on alternative images

Offline

This event is currently accessible by invitation only.

About this event

The Tea Time sessions are dedicated to sharing open-source digital mediation tools. Although many tools exist, there is often not enough time to test them. For this second session, the Citizen Engagement Hub of FARI invites you to discover and contribute to the projects “Better Images of AI” and “Archival Images of AI“.

AI is everywhere in the media, yet it is still represented through the same clichés: blue lights, robots, data centres, men in suits, and so on. What if we created alternative images of AI as we experience it in Brussels? Join us for a creative workshop where you will remix Brussels heritage archives to illustrate AI in our city: its materiality, infrastructures, impacts, and lived experiences. Your images may be published under a free licence on an image bank and reused across multiple projects.

Tea and cake will accompany this immersive 2-hour session.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is primarily aimed at professionals working in digital mediation who wish to discover new tools and mediation activities. It is also open to anyone curious to learn more about visual representations of AI and their impacts, within a creative and participatory format. Let yourself be guided — no technical or artistic skills are required.

This event will take place in French.

Funded by the ERDF and the Brussels-Capital Region.
