Senne Deproost is a doctoral researcher at the Artificial Intelligence Lab of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), where he works on Programmatic Reinforcement Learning and Explainability in AI.
After obtaining his master’s degree in Computer Science at VUB, Senne began working as a research/software engineer at Siemens. There, he worked on integrating Deep Reinforcement Learning for controlling digital twins during the conceptual phase of mechatronic product development. A few years later, he returned to his alma mater to start a PhD under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ann Nowé.
Within the CTRLxAI project, Senne investigates methods to describe the behavior of Reinforcement Learning agents in the form of programmable code. In addition, he is active within the FARI research community, where he is responsible for organizing introductory sessions and seminars on the application of artificial intelligence in both industrial contexts and everyday life.
