MagiX is a Specialising Master launched to equip civil servants, policymakers, and public-sector professionals with the practical digital skills needed to drive innovation and lead the transformation of government.
Public administrations across Europe are facing growing pressure to modernise services, strengthen digital capacity, and responsibly integrate artificial intelligence into governance. To support this transformation, applications are now open for the Specialising Master in Artificial Intelligence, Governance Innovation, and Digital Transformation (MagiX) — an international programme designed for civil servants, policymakers, and public-sector professionals ready to lead the next generation of digital government.
Developed within the AI4Gov-X project and co-funded by the European Union, MagiX aims to accelerate the adoption of AI in public services through high-quality educational initiatives and specialised training modules delivered by leading academic institutions across Europe.
Managed by POLI.design, the MagiX programme is delivered by Politecnico di Milano in collaboration with a network of renowned international academic partners.
The programme prepares professionals to become Functional Specialists capable of supporting the design, implementation, and governance of AI-enabled public sector initiatives. Participants will develop the practical and strategic skills needed to ensure that digital transformation in government remains human-centric, feasible, ethical, and impactful.
The programme is based on an extensive analysis of the competencies required to design, implement, and govern humancentric, feasible, and impactful AI-enabled public sector initiatives. It is delivered online, mainly through asynchronous lessons—offering participants a high degree of flexibility—alongside additional in-person, networking, and transversal activities.
Three core areas form the foundation of the curriculum: Digital Governance & Transformation, AI & Data, and Human-Centric Design & Innovation. To further develop specialised competencies, participants may choose one of six elective tracks. Additional educational activities include seminars, workshops, case studies, simulations, project-based learning, and other practical or extracurricular experiences.
