Patrick Van der Spiegel is a PhD candidate at the FARI Institute and the Vrije Universiteit Brussel’s Artificial Intelligence Lab. Mr. Van der Spiegel completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s in Computer Science, specialising in artificial intelligence, at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Mr Van der Spiegel’s current research focuses on the intersection of AI and cybersecurity. He collaborates with research and industry partners to develop transparent and interpretable models and algorithms. Next to his interest in AI and cybersecurity, he is also interested in applications of AI to other areas with a profound impact on society, including healthcare and sustainability. By combining technical expertise with a broader perspective on societal challenges, he aspires to contribute to innovative solutions for the common good.
